The Electrical Safety Instructions (ESA in Swedish) apply to the safe operation and maintenance of, and safe working on or close to, electrical installations.

ESA Instructed person:21 is an excerpt of EBR ESA Work and EBR ESA Principles. The publication contains instructions for instructed persons who are working in operation rooms or close to an electrical installation, carrying out non-electrical work either independently or under the direction of a skilled elsäkerhetsledare or instructed elsäkerhetsledare – non-electrical work.

The aim of the instructions is to clarify access rules so that everyone can work safely in environments where there is the possibility of an electrical hazard.

The target group for this electrical safety instruction is persons doing some kind of non-electrical work close to an electrical installation. Examples include construction, earthworks, excavating close to cables, mowing, cleaning, painting, etc.
