Anyone who reads your CV in Sweden probably does not know anything about education, companies or places in your former home country. You can gain a lot by describing and explaining things clearly.

The better you can describe what you know and what you have worked with in the past, the better the chance that an employer will become interested and want to meet you.

The following exercises will help you find words and phrases:

The right name for your professional role

Find out what your education and professional role are called in Swedish. Perhaps you can get help with the descriptions here at energijobb.se, at the Swedish Public Employment Service or the Swedish Council for Higher Education.

Explain and describe your experience

Your education and professional role may look different in different companies and in different countries. For this reason, you need to describe in concrete terms what you have done and what you have worked on. You can do that with verbs.

Find your general skills

Many job advertisements describe a job by stating which general skills are valuable: as responsible, thorough or crucial. If you can describe your general skills, it will be easier for the employer to understand what kind of person you are. These skills are of great importance for the type of job that suits you. This can be just as important as having the right education.
